We had to create a table using a limited amount of newspaper and cardboard. The final product must hold a textbook on its own for 30 seconds.
Brainstorm
My group and I challenged ourselves this year to create every project using triangles as their foundations.
Design
We decided to go with a simple design by having the newspapers as a vertical support while the cardboard was a surface for the textbook.
Build
We rolled up the newspapers into triangular prisms and wrap them together with tape and place one triangular cardboard piece on each end of the prisms compiled together.
Testing
When we tested our table, there were no problems with it. Therefore, we didn't have to redesign or change it.
Challenge Time
After the first textbook was successful, each group kept adding books to see which table could hold the most. Our group's table was able to hold six in total before collapsing.
